Coming off a solid year of playing live shows, 2024 finds Gilda House feeling at home back in the studio. “Anam Cara” - the first single slated for this year, is set to release on Friday April 5th. True to form, the song remains emotive, punchy, and enthralling, weaving the band’s signature sonic & safe embrace for everyone present to lean in, dance, and confront different aspects of self and community. The indie-pop trio from Billings, MT consistently levels up with each release.

In a classic pop format, “Anam Cara” verses are playful and stream-of-consciousness, bursting into a hook-filled, pounding and deliberate chorus that celebrates recognition and discovery of a deeper connection. While beautifully joyful, the song is served with a hint of inescapable brute force that shouldn’t be ignored... like the experience described is fate that will not be avoided.

The live band includes Meg Gildehaus (lyrics, lead vocals, and bass synth), Tony Morales (guitar, keys, and backup vocals), and Nick Miles (drums and lighting design). In addition to the trio,  Sean Lynch manages, joins in the recording process, and mixes the band's live shows. All contribute to the writing. Having led other bands themselves, each member brings their own unique skill-set, hard work, and a humble attitude to the project. It’s a motivating, creative environment and their best work is just beginning to come to fruition.

For the band and particularly for Meg Gildehaus, “Anam Cara” and all the music being written this year hold a new found freedom. The previous two Gilda House releases, AB Side A and Be Edise completed a cohesive 12 song body of work that Meg started by herself and finished with the band. It was over the course of finishing the second half of this work that Gilda House transitioned Meg as a solo creator to a synergistic band with members beginning to participate in writing.

The product of this transition, Be Edise, is Gilda House’s most successful release so far, with notable achievements. The record was mixed by Grammy nominated engineer Alex Newport. The band toured their way to seven new states with this album in 2023. The record is on the cusp of surpassing 100,000 streams on Spotify, and the single “When It Is Raining” has surpassed 50,000 streams.

Gilda House is honored to have you join in their adventure as they kick-off an exciting new chapter with “Anam Cara”, the first yummy taste of what’s to come.
